"I needed that."
The three words I hear most commonly after all my classes.
We never do anything fancy, and you definitely won't find handstands or pretzel arm balances around here but clients always come away a lot more centred because of the time they got to slow down, connect with the breath and go inward.
Science is slowly catching up to what the ancient sages always knew. The keys to happiness, contentment and peace are never to be found outside of ourselves.
Whether it's mental, physical, spiritual or emotional support you seek, the diversity and depth available within Yogic and Ayurvedic philosophy has something to support and meet us depending on where we're at. It guides me on my journey of spirituality and awakening... whilst also grounding me and empowering me to remain physically and mentally strong when life is doing its life thing and I'm struggling to keep it all together.
My wish is that my sharing of these ancient traditions serve as a respectful bridge. Honouring the deep roots of yoga as an ancient spiritual lineage, whilst also sharing it in a way that feels relevant to your unique circumstances and the modern times.
With love,
Lizzy

Yoga
To say yoga is just a way to stretch, is like living your life drinking skimmed milk when you could be having full fat milk with cream.
Whether you want a deep journey to awaken layers of consciousness, or just to have a better nights sleep - yoga can guide these things.
There is no condition you have to meet to be able to do yoga. And it is not just for the flexible bodies! It is for every body, and I aim to share it in a way that empowers you to connect more deeply with what your body needs.
Within yoga, we practice to calm the mind ("Yogas citta vritti nirodhah", establish ease and harmony in the body ("Sthira sukham asanam") whilst connecting with our true unchanging self (purusha).
In my weekly classes, I share a traditional Hatha practice with breathwork, meditation, movement, deep rest and chanting, shared in a way that's suitable for all levels and tailored to meet you where you are at.

Holistic Bodywork
Is this a massage? Yes! As well as more...
In holistic bodywork sessions, I use different techniques to support you to relieve deep held tension.
I actively guide you to breathe fully so you can get more out of the massage strokes aimed to relieve tension.
I use a combination of Swedish and Thai massage techniques, fascia release like gentle shaking & rocking, assisted stretching and pressure points. My formal training is in Ayurvedic, Swedish and Thai Massage - which work primarily with how subtle energy moves throughout the body.
I integrate energy healing throughout and towards the end, reiki is provided along with space for you to rest and integrate.
We begin with a consultation and each session is tailored to what you need.
Sessions
1 hour - 50 minutes treatment time, 10 minutes consultation and time to change

Ayurveda
Ayurveda is the ancient Indian philosophy for healing.
It originated when people first moved from living in villages to more urban environments, and as a result, became sick because they stopped following the ways of nature. For example, instead of sleeping and waking with natural light patterns, urban living adjusted this which impacts our hormones and consequent bodily functions contributing to disease.
Ayurveda explains our physical health as a balance of 3 elemental doshas - pitta (fire and water), kapha (earth and water), and vata (space and air).
To restore harmony and balance to the body, Ayurveda focuses on strengthening your digestion and balancing these doshas.
It does this with herbal medication, massages and treatments, dietary protocols, and lifestyle advice like routines to follow and ways to move.
I offer consultations to learn about your unique constitution (Prakriti) and how ayurveda explains your symptoms (Vkriti), as well as Ayurvedic treatments like Oil massage and Dry Powder Massage and longer coaching programmes to support chronic conditions.
Consultations
1 hour - £60
Testimonials

I feel nurtured during Lizzy's yoga classes. She gives us time to begin softly and tune into the body, which really supports me to go deep with my practice.

About
I'm Lizzy. A holistic practitioner based in Devon.
I've always struggled with my mental health - whether in the form of OCD, disordered eating, anxiety or depression. My relationship to these issues shifted since studying yoga, ayurveda and shamanic healing modalities. Rather than treat the conditions purely from the level of the mind, they have taught me the importance of a holistic approach to taking care of ourselves - one which works with the body, our connection to God, and our mind.
Like many of us, I grew up as a highly sensitive girl in a culture that was extremely logical and masculine. Yoga has given me a safe and gentle way to reconnect with my sensitivity and to feel emotions rather than get overwhelmed.
I still struggle with my mental health and get overwhelmed in our current cultural climate. Yet I am a whole lot more content and at peace than I used to be. And I'm starting to realise that this may be the whole point. Not waiting for the rain to pass... but being able to dance fully in the rain!
I fill my days with singing, poetry, dancing, getting lost in nature, and learning about indigenous ways to care for the land.
I am a qualified Secondary Science Biology Teacher with 10 years experience as well as a Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic therapist, and Thai masseuse with 1000 hours in somatic qualifications and experience of full immersion in ashrams, monasteries and shamanic practices. For 8 years I lived abroad, learning directly from the beautiful cultures I was fortunate to call home.
The form my work takes can sometimes vary - but it all has the common connection of bringing us into deeper connection with our bodies, each other, and our natural planet around us.
I hope that my work can meet you and support you in some way. Maybe it's deep and profound, or maybe it just supports you to take a big exhale and forget that annoying boss who's been on your mind all day.
I hope our paths connect and I'm wishing you so much love, health and peace.
Lizzy x
